**Story of the Day**

Okay so last night Jared was on his way home and text me and said to get dressed and get his rifle and be ready for when he pulls up to the house...when reading this text, it freaked me out a bit.  So just jumping out of the shower, I dry off throw some sweats on, grab the gun and wait.  I'm sitting there dripping wet hair, sweats on, boots on and a gun in my hand ready to go..do whatever it was we were going to do.  He comes in, grabs some bullets and we get in the truck.  So finally I asked, ummm where are we going?  He says I've got a coyote in the trap and you're gonna shoot him.  A little disappointed that it wasn't something a little more dramatic, I was like okay, lets do this.  So we pull up to the trap and get out to look at him.

First we look around the trap and see all the paw prints and digging and damage to the trap that his friends did to try to get him out.  Then I start looking at the coyote and he's all bundled up, freezing, in the corner, now scared to death.  So now at this point I'm starting to feel a little sorry for the pup.  We look him over and Jared puts the gun up to the cage and says here, now shoot him right in the chest.  I start to say noooo let him go, look how cute he is and look at him looking at us all sad.  Jared says to me, "he's a scavenger, worthless, just do it."  I say okay, and as I grabbed the gun and point it at him, I start well up a little.  I whine to Jared and tell him that I can't, he's too cute, just look at him!!  He laughs at me and says fine, if you can't shoot a coyote, you can't go deer hunting.  Ahh, so I grab the gun again and attemp to point it at the coyote one more time, anddddd nope I tear up again and tell him that I can't.  So he gets the gun and says fine I'll do it...so I back up and watch as he ruthlessly shoots the poor animal and now I'm bawling like a little kid telling him that he's mean.  Jared comes to hug me and of course makes fun of me for crying.  So I sit there and watch this poor animal die just crying and crying over it...then I start to think to myself...why in the world am I crying over a coyote...a COYOTE...the damn things piss me off every night when they yelp and then my dogs chase after them barking and howling and all while laying there in bed hoping that Trevor (my dog) got one....hmmm what in the world is wrong with me!!!  Must be the same reason I cry during stupid commercials now too...dang motherly hormones..haha!!!  So now Jared feels he has to tell the entire world that I cried over him shooting a coyote and now I'm not allowed to go deer hunting cause I won't wanna shoot bambi...well damn!

New Begginings

I have decided to start up a blog for friends and family to follow "Our Life's Little Adventures" aka Mackenzie. (Well Mackenzie for the most part, but definately to keep everyone filled in on how we are all doing).

Well to start, most of you know that KayLynn Mackenzie Hale entered our lives on August 6, 2009 at 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 20 inches long at 5:40 p.m.. By far the best day of my life!!! She is now 4 and half months old, and man has it gone by wayyy too fast!! It seems just like yesterday that we brought her home. She is a bundle of joy and even though sleepless nights took over the first 6 weeks of our lives, it has all been worth it. She started sleeping through the night at 7 weeks old. Which is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! She is the happiest baby, always all smiles and talking to everyone she sees. She has discovered new things these past few weeks...and my favorite is her fake cough. It's so funny to listen to her fake cough to get mommy to come get her (which I learned real fast to stop doing.) Also she is rolling over from back to front and does not like it one bit to be on her tummy. She'll stay for a little while then she'll start yelling at you to come move her over, just for her to roll right back over on her tummy. A wonderful little game she likes to play, haha! Her newest discovery is her feet, she loves to play with her feet!!! We recently started giving her baby food and this is a great little adventure. We discovered that she does NOT like Applesauce, which I told her was just fine because mama doesn't like it either, but daddy says we'll work on that! And boy, the diapers are noooo fun either! Right now she is eating greenbeans and peas, YUM! She likes them alot and you can't move fast enough for her when comes to feeding them to her lol! We recently went to the doctor to get her 4 month shots and she weighed in at 16 lbs 2 oz and 25 inches long...she has grown sooo much!!

This picture was from her first Thanksgiving, which was a month ago so she has grown more even from this picture, which soon I'll post a new blog and get some Christmas pictures of her up.

As for me and Jared, our lives have changed dramatically with the our new bundle of joy! Jared started at the Big Spring Fire Department on October 12, 2009. I am so proud of him and he loves his job. We were just talking the other day that we can't believe it's already been 2 months that he's been there. I am still working with Concho Resources, I have now been there 1 and half years. I love it there, my co-workers are awesome and it's a wonderful company to work for. We stay busy and have been blessed not to get hit hard with the low economy. We have pushed on through and have actually come out even better. So many people keep asking when our wedding will be and we are still working on a date. We are thinking October 2, 2010, but we have to wait till the new year for Jared to turn in vacation time at the Fire Dept. to make sure he can get some days off around then. So until then, it's up in the air, but I'll keep you updated as we decide.

Well for now that's all I have, we are heading to Cooper & Pottsboro this weekend for Christmas with some of Jared's family, looking forward to it. This will be the first time many of them have seen Mackenzie so everyone is pretty excited! Alright, till next time!

Love,
Kayla, Jared & Mackenzie
